Venture and Development Capital

AGI has been active in Development Capital since the mid-1990’s having raised venture capital for several technology-driven businesses in North America, the United Kingdom and in Continental Europe across a variety of industries (V and D Capital Transactions).  This segment of AGI’s business includes:

  1. Assessing the strategic and commercial potential of a company and its technology;
  2. Developing a strong financial structure;
  3. Introducing commercial partners where appropriate;
  4. Identifying and negotiating with providers of finance; and
  5. Providing ongoing advice and support.

AGI’s extensive contacts with providers of debt and equity finance enable the company to tailor the funding for individual circumstances and to achieve the best possible funding solutions for their client.  AGI tends to raise funds of between $1m - $10m for each deal.

Thus, AGI is regularly asked to assist young, high technology companies on the financial aspects of their growth plans.  This can involve identification of key stakeholders and alternative sources of debt and equity, suggesting various valuation techniques and representing a company facing a (perhaps unwanted) takeover bid from a third party.

AGI can also assist young and start-up companies by helping to identify commercially critical aspects of advanced technology such as barriers to entry and alternative distribution markets.  AGI has advised high technology companies in a wide range of leading technology sectors including medical software, medical instrumentation, diagnostic imaging, bio-technology, electronic components, telecommunications software, electronic security, aerospace and defense.
